Most people finish a Feltie in 3–6 hours, depending on the design. It’s the perfect cozy craft project to enjoy in one sitting or come back to over a few relaxing evenings.

Feltie Kits are best for ages 12 and up. Felting needles are sharp, so younger crafters should always be supervised.

Needle felting doesn’t have an “undo” button, but you can always add more wool, reshape, or keep refining as you go. It’s all part of the process. That’s also why we created the Practice Heart, it gives you a chance to learn the basics, test your tools, and get comfy before diving into your Feltie.

Not at all! Every Feltie is one-of-a-kind. Small differences in shape, size, or expression give your creation its own personality and charm. That’s the beauty of handmade, your Feltie is totally unique.

You’ll want to poke until it’s firm and holds its shape with very little give, like a dense kitchen sponge, dinner roll or firm stress ball. Ensuring your Feltie is firm makes it much easier to add accents and the face. It’s almost impossible to over-felt, so if you’re unsure, keep going!

It happens! That’s why we include extra needles in every kit. Try to poke straight in and out without bending the needle and always use your felting mat to help avoid breakage.
